SafeChoice ("we", "us") helps you scan food and personal-care products to understand what is inside them. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We built SafeChoice to need as little personal data as possible.

  1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT • Anonymous account: when you open the app we create an anonymous account so your data can sync. We do not require your name, email, or phone number to use the app. • Preferences you give us: answers from the onboarding questionnaire (such as goals and dietary focus), used to personalize results. • Product photos: photos you take of a product's front and ingredients label are sent for analysis to identify the product and read its ingredients. • Scan history: products you scan and their results, so you can revisit them. • AI chat messages: questions you ask the in-app assistant, so it can answer them. • Basic technical data: standard app and diagnostic information needed to keep the service running.
  2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION • To analyze products and generate health scores and ingredient breakdowns. • To personalize recommendations based on your preferences. • To power the AI assistant's answers. • To maintain, secure, and improve the app.
  3. SERVICE PROVIDERS We share the minimum data needed with trusted providers who process it on our behalf: • Supabase — secure backend, database, and storage of your account, preferences, and scan history. • OpenRouter / OpenAI — AI processing of label text and product photos to produce analysis and chat answers. • RevenueCat — manages your subscription status. • Apple and Google — process subscription payments. We never receive your full payment-card details. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
  4. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION Your scan history and preferences are kept while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time: email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my SafeChoice data", and we will permanently remove your account, preferences, scan history, product photos, and AI chat messages within 30 days.
  5. SECURITY Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
  6. CHILDREN SafeChoice is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
  7. YOUR RIGHTS Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
  8. CHANGES We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date on this page.
