SnapChef ("we", "our", or "the app") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.
Information We Handle
Photos you capture or select. When you scan your fridge or ingredients, the photo is sent to our processing service solely to detect ingredients and generate recipes. Photos are not stored permanently and are not used to identify you.
Ingredient and preference data. Information you provide during onboarding (dietary preferences, allergies, favourite cuisines, household size, cooking time) and the ingredients you scan or enter are used to personalize your recipes.
Anonymous device identifier. SnapChef does not require you to create an account. We generate an anonymous device identifier to save your preferences and recipe history. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any personal identity.
Purchase information. If you subscribe to SnapChef Premium, your purchase is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive only the subscription status (active/expired) needed to unlock premium features. We never see or store your payment card details.
How We Use Information
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers necessary to operate the app: AI/recipe processing providers (to analyze ingredient photos and generate recipes), Supabase (our backend and database provider), and Apple App Store / Google Play / RevenueCat (to process and validate subscriptions).
Data Retention
Photos are processed transiently and not retained after recipe generation. Your preferences and recipe history are retained until you request deletion.
Your Choices
You can revoke camera or photo permissions at any time in your device settings. You can request deletion of your data at any time (see our Delete Account page).
Children's Privacy
SnapChef is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
